Role Overview:

We are hiring a Junior Data Scientist for a fast-growing fintech product organization focused on building intelligent solutions for credit scoring, risk analytics, fraud detection, and data-driven lending decisions.

This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical and technical skills who wants to work on real-world financial datasets and contribute to impactful machine learning and predictive modeling projects.

You will work closely with senior data scientists, data engineers, and product teams to build scalable data solutions that directly influence credit and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and support machine learning models for credit risk, fraud detection, and customer analytics
• Perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering on large financial datasets
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to generate business insights and patterns
• Assist in building and validating predictive models using statistical and ML techniques
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure efficient data pipelines and data quality
• Support deployment and monitoring of models in production environments
• Build reports and dashboards to communicate model performance and insights
• Work on experimentation and A/B testing for model improvements
• Stay updated with emerging tools, techniques, and trends in data science and AI

Requirements

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning / Analytics roles
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Good understanding of statistics and machine learning concepts
• Hands-on experience with ML algorithms such as:
  • Logistic Regression
  • Decision Trees / Random Forest
  • Gradient Boosting (XGBoost / LightGBM)
• Experience in data analysis, feature engineering, and model evaluation
• Ability to work with large datasets and derive meaningful insights
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
