Sr Data Scientist – Fintech (Credit & Risk Analytics)

Role Overview:

We are hiring a Data Scientist for a leading fintech product organization focused on building scalable solutions in credit underwriting, risk analytics, and fraud detection.

The role involves working on large-scale financial and behavioral datasets to build predictive models and data-driven decision systems that directly impact lending and credit decisions.

You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to develop high-performance models that improve credit accuracy, reduce risk, and enable financial inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement credit risk, fraud detection, and predictive modeling solutions
  • Build and optimize machine learning models for underwriting and portfolio performance
  • Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights
  • Work with data engineering teams to ensure clean, structured, and scalable data pipelines
  • Support deployment and monitoring of models in production environments
  • Build dashboards and reports to track model performance and business metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business problems into data solutions
  • Continuously improve model accuracy through feature engineering and experimentation
  • Stay updated with advancements in machine learning, AI, and fintech analytics

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning roles
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis libraries
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms:
    • Logistic Regression
    • Decision Trees / Random Forest
    • Gradient Boosting (XGBoost / LightGBM)
  • Experience working with financial, credit, or transactional data (preferred)
  • Knowledge of model evaluation, validation, and performance metrics
  • Experience with data visualization tools and reporting dashboards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced product environments
